Guitar
Church is a Christian based guitar club where beginners to advanced
players can develop their guitar skills.
Next
to the piano, many people choose to learn the guitar at some point
in their lives. In our culture, most contemporary music
contains guitar and it is familiar to all of us. Many of our favorite
songs have guitar parts.

Since music plays
such a big part in many of our lives, we often want to learn to play songs
we’ve heard or we want to create our own. Our guitar playing could
be for personal enjoyment, the enjoyment of others or to worship God.
In
guitar playing, one thing is certain: the more you play, the better you
will get. A major problem often develops when we get to a certain
level and get discouraged. Sometimes it is due to the pressure of lessons
and/or the guilt of paying for private instruction that is not used to
its potential. Maybe favorite songs couldn’t be learned or you get
stuck in the rut of playing only open chords. For others, life gets too
busy. Whatever the reason, Guitar Church is here to help you get
back on track. Our philosophy is simple: to help guitar players
develop their skills by playing with other guitarists. It is that simple.
As steel sharpens steel we do the best when we learn at our own pace and
with the encouragement of others.
Learning from
Others
Learning to play music
is best when it can be shared. This is especially true with guitar. Have
you ever wished that you could have somebody show you how to play a song,
maybe some new chords, or a lead part? When that happens, it inspires
you. On the other hand, if we need to learn under pressure the passion
to play gets lost. The goal of Guitar Church is to bring together guitar
players so we can learn from one another.
What
we Share
Guitar Church is designed
to be hosted by a church and is offered in a cycle of 10 consecutive weeks.
Guitar Church offers players information on music theory, chords, scales,
modes, arpeggios, song writing, guitar gear, guitars, tones, effects and
most importantly playing for worship. All is offered
through in-house instruction, guest speakers and conferences.
